Meet the Instructor
Hello, I am Paul Hopkins and I would like to introduce myself to you as the Instructor at the Altrincham Kumon Centre. I have been immersed in education for 28 years and I am a fully qualified teacher. Prior to becoming the Instructor here, I was Head of Department of a large and successful Business and IT department.
I am also a Kumon dad with two children who have undertaken the maths programme. Both my children benefited tremendously from the programme and progressed from finding maths difficult to being very comfortable with the subject. My son, now 14 and going into year 10 is on Level I having started when he was 6. My daughter started when she was 9 and completed Level I at GCSE stage gaining a very good grade in maths. They are now working at a level above the school curriculum and are gaining confidence and ability. For this reason, I am now an advocate of Kumon having been entirely satisfied with the Kumon programme and method.
Coming from an education background I have seen firsthand how under-developed maths and English skills in children can hold them back and create barriers to their education and career progression. Stepping into the role of a Kumon Instructor was a natural transition for me and has given me the opportunity to help children reach their potential in these areas of crucial importance.
I enjoy guiding and motivating students through the programmes and working in partnership with parents to give children the opportunity to fulfil their potential. There is no reason why your children shouldn't find similar benefits to those that mine and countless other children have found.
