"I find schoolwork easier to understand and complete. My mental arithmetic has improved and I can do my sums in my head."
Peter Rogers (aged 9), Yate Study Centre

About the centre

Classes take place on Mondays and Thursdays between 4pm and 5pm at Wake House, Bourne. This is a lovely room with excellent facilities and provides an ideal environment for our students to study.

Your child will attend the centre once or twice a week for approximately 30 minutes per subject, taking work home for the rest of the week. They will complete that day's work under the supervision of the instructor and her dedicated team of fully trained class assistants.

The benefits of our class environment are:
• It provides students with motivational surroundings. Personal contact with me and my team ensures that your child feels encouraged and supported at all times. • We will assess your child's progress, ensuring that they are keeping on track with their study goals.
• We give guidance when necessary and correct any misunderstandings, ensuring that your child is always confident with their homework.
• Your child has the opportunity to study alongside other children and benefit from supplementary educational activities.

All students see me before they leave class. This gives both the student and me the chance to talk about their progress and goals and allows me to give them appropriate feedback and praise.

As an Instructor I am constantly observing each student and assessing their work. It is important that the work is tailored just right for each student, so that they are working at the right pace and at the right level. Students perform best, when this is achieved. The Kumon programme is designed to fill in gaps where students' are failing, to build confidence through practice.
