KUMON CONNECT available

The Kumon Bradford, Great Horton Study Centre was established in 2013.

The Kumon Maths and English Study Programmes offer what traditional tuition gives to your child and more. Kumon goes one step further by helping each child develop self-learning skills, enabling them to tackle challenging work without reliance on a teacher. Our aim is to help any child of any ability to progress and develop a curiosity and love for learning.

Your local Instructor will set work for your child at just the right level, enabling them to build confidence in their abilities and progress their maths and English skills in small, manageable steps through daily study. They will visit their local study centre up to twice a week for sessions with their Instructor. This allows the Instructor to tailor and adapt each child’s study plan to their abilities, through observing their progress and fluency at each level. Our study programmes are individualised to each child to help them establish strong learning foundations and a positive learning experience, to build skills and confidence for their future.

Did you know, you can now study Kumon using digital worksheets? This study centre is proud to offer KUMON CONNECT. Click here to find out more.

About the Instructor

Bradford Great Horton - Helena Zamulinskyj

My name is Helena Zamulinskyj and I am the Instructor of the Kumon Bradford, Great Horton Study Centre.

In October 2012, I became aware of Kumon through a TV documentary and just had to find out more! I researched Kumon and discovered the opportunity for expansion in Bradford, Great Horton. Opening a new study centre in Bradford would enable me to put all of my teaching experience to excellent use, as well as challenge my business acumen.

The prospect of being able to offer new opportunities and challenges to both students and their families is an exciting one. I am dedicated and motivated in my work and ensuring all my students receive the full benefits of the Kumon programmes.

When I see the look on a child’s face – of pure delight in their own success – I feel especially rewarded in my work. This progression and development of abilities is something each and every student can experience with Kumon, nurturing a love of learning along the way.

I look forward to the growth and success of my study centre and the regular, ongoing training sessions provided by Kumon. My ambition within Kumon is to support all my students to the highest standards, allowing each one to fulfil their potential.

Popular Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
