Meet the Instructor

My name is Christine Johnston and I took over the Edinburgh Morningside Centre in 2007. My career over the past 30 years has involved working with children in various different settings, the last being in a school for children with additional support needs.

I have always loved working with children, helping them to achieve their potential in whatever they are doing, and it is so rewarding to see the students in the Kumon class gaining confidence in their mental arithmetic and times tables and to see them progressing through the levels, as well as witnessing their self-esteem and confidence growing generally in their subjects. It is lovely to hear from parents how much Kumon has helped their student with their school studies.

I have three grown up children and a grandchild so I know that family life can be hectic at times, so it is fantastic to see the commitment given by my Kumon families to adhere to the daily study, marking and corrections and for them to realise the benefits gained by this discipline.
