Saturday classes are ONLINE ONLY

Kumon aims to give students the tools they need to enjoy learning and thrive academically. As their Instructor, I’ll guide your child through work that is set at the just right level for them, making sure to keep them engaged and making progress. By studying little and often, through daily work sheets and regular class sessions either online or in the centre, they will steadily increase their ability and fluency and build their skills in small manageable steps. You can choose either the traditional paper and pencil format, or go digital with KUMON CONNECT using your tablet and stylus.

As well as a solid academic foundation, we work on building valuable study skills too, so a child’s confidence grows as they learn focus, resilience and the ability to study independently.

We work with students of all abilities, from those who need a little help catching up, through to others who already enjoy maths, English and reading and wish to stretch their knowledge in the subjects further than they’re able to achive at school. From my past experience working with children, I have always found it very rewarding to work with young to help them to achieve their full potential, whilst providing them with a safe environment to challenge themselves and build their confidence and self-belief.

Did you know, you can now study Kumon using digital worksheets? This study centre is proud to offer KUMON CONNECT. Click here for more details.

As an Ofsted registered centre, parents can make considerable savings through various schemes.

About the Instructor

My first experience with Kumon was as a parent, starting my children on their Kumon journey. Their progress and advancement was fascinating to watch and the Kumon Method massively improved both their maths and English skills. Kumon study has helped my daughters to go to the best colleges and universities in the UK and they are now realising their dream careers in medicine as a direct result of the skills and techniques that they learned through Kumon.

Before becoming a Kumon Instructor, I worked as a Branch Director for a leading international bank. In this role, I enjoyed coaching, developing and motivating people to realise their true potential and further their careers. I also had frequent opportunities to work with young people, teaching them about the worlds of finance, savings and avoiding scams.

The confidence I have in the Kumon Method of Learning and the content of the programmes inspired me to become a Kumon Instructor myself where I use my past experiences to instruct and guide young minds.

Popular Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
