"I believe Kumon is the reason why my maths has improved, and without it I wouldn't have achieved an A in my GCSE maths and wouldn't have even attempted A-level!"
Comments from students and parents
11 year old Martha Carmona
"I started both the maths and English programmes in 2003. I enjoy coming to class and I like Kumon as it helps me to get ahead in school. It also helps with my confidence. When I get stuck my Instructor helps put me back on track but mainly I work on my own. When I am older I want to be a dress or cake designer. Being confident will help me to be successful."
Marie-Chi Carmona, mother of Martha, six year old Mave and 12 year old Josiah
"All three of my children come to the Norwich Kumon Study Centre and have been studying the Kumon programmes since 2003. When we first moved to the UK from the Philippines the children missed the structure of the education system they were used to back home. As they were already able to do some simple maths and reading we wanted to give them the chance to go further. Kumon was the right balance between independence and structure and they now find it much easier to tackle their school work.
Since starting Kumon they have all reached the top set for all of their classes. Josiah is now a higher level maths student and will soon be completing the Kumon English programme. Mave started the Kumon programmes when she was just three and a half years old and you can really see her progressing. I am always recommending Kumon to other parents as it really does make a difference."
Elizabeth Tacliad, mother of six year old Bearzion
"Kumon has been great for developing Bearzion's concentration and focus. She takes responsibility for doing her Kumon work every day. Even when she is poorly she doesn't want to be absent as she loves it so much! When she grows up she wants to study medicine and become a doctor. I believe that Kumon study will help her get there."
