Meet the Instructor
Kumon Instructor Vicky West is the first former Kumon student to become an Instructor in the UK. Vicky, who followed her younger sister onto the programme, started studying at the age of 16 years old, proving it's never too late to start, and went on to complete the programme in the following 2 years. Vicky then went on to study Accountancy and Mathematical Statistics at University.
She opened the Portishead Centre in November 2005. After successfully establishing Kumon in this area, Vicky acquired the Nailsea Centre in July 2007.
Between the two centres, there are over 100 students studying maths and/or English. Students are of all ages and abilities and start studying for a number of reasons. Some children are struggling and want to catch up, some need a confidence boost, and other more gifted minds are looking to be stretched. Whatever your child's needs, Kumon offers an individualised approach to helping them gain the study skills needed throughout their education.
