Regional Manager - Glasgow Regional Team
Hello, my name is Manvinder, and I have just begun a new Kumon role as Regional Manager in the Glasgow region. Prior to this I had been an Area Manager in the London North team for over two years.
In this role, I worked in a regional team providing support to the Instructors who run Kumon centres in the North London area. The aim of Area Managers is to assist Instructors in the many aspects of running their Kumon centres, from advertising and marketing to practical assistance with centre management, as well as the instruction of their students using the Kumon Method.
As part of this role, I also ran the Finchley North Kumon Centre. Each region runs a centre to ensure we are doing our utmost to keep abreast of the work and requirements of our Instructors. By running a centre ourselves, we have a heightened understanding of the intricacies involved in being a successful Instructor. The focus of Area Managers is always one of continued learning and development, in order to be of optimal support to the Instructors and students we work with.
My background is in Behavioural Psychology where I worked with children with special needs. At first I was daunted by the prospect of leaving my previous role and skills behind. I have, however, been pleasantly surprised at the opportunities my current role presents for using all I have learned previously and more importantly, the opportunities I am presented with, to continue to learn and develop further.
