"Kumon is not always fun because it is challenging, but it is always successful provided parent, Instructor and student work in partnership."
Marie Gibb, Correspondence Instructor

Welcome to the Kumon Parents' Zone

Kumon Kids Parents ZoneHere you will find advice and tips which will help you to help your child achieve the best they possibly can with their Kumon study.

With Kumon, as with other activities, your child's confidence will grow leaps and bounds with the help of some praise and encouragement from you. Make sure you acknowledge their daily progress and achievements, however small these may seem. As a parent we also recommend that you:

  • communicate regularly with your Instructor
  • encourage your child to do the work set by your Instructor every day
  • give your child specific praise for their efforts
  • view Kumon as a long-term study programme rather than a short-term means of getting through specific exams
  • try to attend class regularly - ideally twice a week, especially if your child is very young or has recently enrolled on the programme

When discussing Kumon with your child, highlight the need for thoroughness and a high level of accuracy in their work. Show enthusiasm for the programme and encourage your child to do their best and to work at their own pace. For more information, please visit our Frequently Asked Questions section.
