"It is highly rewarding to be a part of young people's success and to hear reports from school of how they are advancing and often outperforming their peers."

Leading education provider, Kumon Educational UK is today proudly celebrating the success of its students in this year's GCSE results. Many Kumon students have been patiently awaiting their results and today proves that their hard work and perseverance has paid off.
Sasha Czarnuszewicz who studies Kumon maths at the Wells Study Centre is thrilled with her results, She found out today that she had obtained seven A stars having already obtained an A star in her maths GCSE last year. Sasha plans to continue with her Kumon study and is setting her sights on completing the programme.
With a bright future ahead of her, Sasha has been helped through her studies via Kumon and it has given her much more than just good grades. By doing Kumon worksheets every night after school for twelve years, Sasha's confidence has grown and her accelerated learning has seen her make massive academic improvements.
Sasha said: "I'm really happy with the results and I am now going to think about what to do for my A Levels. I am hoping to go to Oxford University to study maths and philosophy so it's important that I stay focussed now."
Another Kumon student, Lisa Evans from the Chippenham Study Centre is also thrilled with her results. Lisa obtained twelve GCSE passes with three A stars in maths, statistics and ICT. Lisa wants to go on to do a maths degree at university and then go into teaching. She has even thought about becoming a Kumon Instructor.
Lisa said: "Kumon has given me knowledge and confidence in maths. It's only a load of numbers and you just have to work out how to put them together – its nothing to be afraid of. When I look back at the last ten years of my Kumon study I can see that I have achieved a great deal simply by doing a little work every day so I feel that in doing a little every day I can achieve anything."
Kumon offers individualised maths and English study programmes that are tailored to the needs of each child. Through daily practice, students build their confidence, improve their concentration and gain effective study skills that will enhance their future learning. The Kumon study programme has been carefully designed to provide children with independent study skills, self-belief and a positive attitude to learning.
From 21 September until 20 October 2009, Kumon is running a two-week Free Trial. This exciting offer is totally free of charge and open to all children in the UK. The Free Trial provides children with the opportunity to experience Kumon first-hand and also gives parents an insight into how the Kumon method can benefit their child, without any financial commitment. The offer applies to either or both subjects of English and maths, and is open to families who are new to Kumon, siblings of current students and those already on the programme considering a second subject.
The Kumon method of learning was developed in 1954 by Toru Kumon, both a parent and gifted teacher from Japan. Like any parent, Toru wanted the best education for his son and began devising a teaching method using worksheets in the core subject of maths. Soon word spread of the success of his method and now in 2009, there are approximately 58,000 students studying Kumon at more than 600 study centres across the UK and Ireland.
