"It is highly rewarding to be a part of young people's success and to hear reports from school of how they are advancing and often outperforming their peers."

Kumon UK celebrates World Book Day

World Book Day is fast approaching and leading education provider Kumon fully supports this global initiative which aims to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading. These aims are very close to Kumon's heart.

Kumon is one of the leading education providers in the UK and Ireland, offering both maths and English programmes for children of all ages and abilities. Kumon exists to provide as many children as possible with the opportunity to learn and aims to give them the best chance in life by offering a unique and individualised study programme that is tailored to the needs of each child.

The Kumon English Programme was designed with two main objectives. The first was to develop the ability to read and understand a wide variety of texts, and the second, to develop a life-long habit of reading for both education and enjoyment.

World Book Day is taking place on 4 March and Kumon welcomes this fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of reading amongst children. Kumon is celebrating this special day by running a competition on its website to win a fantastic prize. The reading competition is open to all children who are invited to submit reviews of their favourite books. To enter the competition, go to the Kumon Kids competitions section at Kumon.co.uk. The competition will go live on the website on 1 March.

Davina Greaves, Kumon UK's English Project Manager says:
"Kumon's English programme focuses not only on improving children's reading ability by helping students learn how to read but also on developing a love of reading. Immersing yourself in a good book helps your imagination grow, exposes you to so many concepts and cultures and helps you to better appreciate the world around you. Reading is so fantastic for broadening horizons and truly helps in developing children's potential."
