Terms and conditions for parents participating in Free Trial

This section sets out the terms and conditions that apply to parents/guardians and students participating in the Free Trial:

  1. By participating in the Free Trial, the parent/guardian agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.

  2. The Free Trial campaign will commence from and including Thursday 1 February 2024 – Friday 15 March 2024 (the “Free Trial Campaign”) inclusive.

  3. During the Free Trial Campaign, your child can attend up to two (2) Kumon classes within a maximum seven (7) day period (the “Free Trial Period”) free of charge. The two classes can either be in the same subject or in two different subjects.

  4. During the Free Trial Period, Kumon classes can be attended at the study centre or online, or as a combination of both. This will be at the discretion of the Instructor and their centre requirements.

  5. The Free Trial Period is deemed to start on the first (1st) class day your child receives their first (1st) Kumon worksheet.

  6. Upon expiry of the Free Trial Period, should you choose for your child to continue with Kumon, fees shall be payable from your child’s next class day.

  7. Parents/Guardians must allow for their child to undertake the diagnostic test for each subject to be trialled, to ascertain the correct starting point for their Kumon study.

  8. During the Free Trial period (and beyond where applicable), the parent/guardian must ensure the child continues with daily study as part of the Kumon Method of Learning. It is the parent’s/guardian’s responsibility to mark the child’s homework and ensure that corrections are completed as directed by the Kumon Instructor.

  9. The Free Trial cannot be used in conjunction with or in substitution of any other offer from Kumon.

  10. Kumon and the Instructors reserve the right to refuse the use of the Free Trial offer at their absolute discretion.

  11. Spaces are subject to availability.

  12. Parents/Guardians must notify the Instructor immediately if they wish to discontinue the Free Trial or are unable to attend a study centre/online session which they have booked with the Instructor.

  13. During the study centre sessions, parents/guardians are required to wait outside of the classroom but remain on venue premises unless directed otherwise by the Instructor and shall adhere to the Instructor’s centre and/or online operation policies (as applicable). Each child must be signed in/out of each class.

  14. All Kumon materials must be returned to the Instructor at the end of the Free Trial period or discontinuance.

  15. The Free Trial can only be used at participating Kumon study centres and cannot be exchanged for cash alternatives.

  16. The Free Trial cannot be used for students who have withdrawn from Kumon or participated in a Free Trial within the last six months. Parents/Guardians may only attend one Free Trial within any six-month period.

  17. Neither Kumon Associates nor Instructors will tolerate aggressive, abusive or disruptive behaviour. In the event that a child or parent behaves in an unacceptable manner, they will be asked to leave the study centre and the child will be taken out of the study centre a refused future access to the study centre.

  18. Complaints shall be raised directly with the Instructor.

  19. Should a parent/guardian decide that their child shall continue with Kumon following the completion of the Free Trial, it will be necessary for the parent to enter into terms and conditions with the relevant Instructor and pay the appropriate registration and monthly subscription fees.

  20. Any dispute or claims arising out of, or in connection with, these terms and conditions subject matter or formation, (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and constructed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. It is agreed that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any disputes.
