Salary £19,000 - £21,000 per annum (Pro-Rota) plus benefi

Monday 12.00pm - 7pm, Tuesday 1.30pm -6.45pm, Thursday 2.30pm – 6.45pm, Friday 2:30pm to 6.45pm and Saturday 9:00am - 1pm

We are currently looking for a Senior Class Assistant, to cover a period of 12 months, to support the centre Instructor in all aspects of delivering the Kumon Maths and English Programmes. The Kumon Harborne Study Centre currently supports over 460 children and the Senior Class Assistant plays an essential part in daily life at the centre.


Key responsibilities of this role will include:
  • Assisting the Education Centre Manager and the Deputy Education Centre Manager with the delivery/instruction of the Kumon programmes
  • To assist the Education Centre Manager in the setting of students’ work.
  • To cover instruction of students at the centre in the absence or at the request of the ECM and DECM.
  • To arrange/facilitate student enrolment meetings with prospective parents and students.
  • Observing students and providing concise feedback to the centre Instructor
  • Setting up and clearing down the study centre
  • Project-managing centre events and student recruitment campaigns
  • Preparing, accurately marking and recording student's work
  • Maintaining positive working relationships with parents
  • Providing a professional reception service for the centre when required
  • General administration duties as and when requested by line manager
Key skills and experience required for this role are:
  • A passion for education and the development of children through individualised study
  • Proven experience of working with children of all ages and observing their work in class
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage administrative tasks effectively
  • A high proficiency of maths
  • Achieved a level B or above (or equivalent) in GCSE English Language, English Literature and an A or above for Mathematics

The interview process will consist of:
  1. Initial phone interview with the hiring manager
  2. If successful you will be invited to attend an orientation meeting/assessment day, in a centre around the country, all expenses paid. The assessment day will be based on tests and presentations
  3. The final stage will be a face-to-face interview
