The centre has been providing maths and English programmes for students of all ages and abilities since 2009.
Many of the students attend schools within the area and live in the local community, although some students attend from Erith, Welling and Belvedere.
As well as the Instructor, there are seven dedicated assistants during each session. Classes are held in the church hall and there is an area dedicated to early learners with assistants. A senior assistant is dedicated to reading with and supporting English students. Along with the Instructor, Kemi Orisatoki, the team are on hand to provide guidance where necessary.
The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
Kumon should not be considered a traditional tuition provider as, rather than ‘teaching’ students, we encourage them to become independent learners who feel confident in their own abilities and able to face unfamiliar work.
The study centre has a receptionist who is your first point of contact in the centre. There is also a waiting room for parents and siblings while students are in class.
The centre is situated within five minutes walking distance of Abbey Wood Station and is accessible by local buses, as well as having nearby parking.
