The centre provides maths and English programmes for students of all ages and abilities and has been serving the local community since 2000.
The centre is in Bowdon Parish Centre, next to the church in Bowdon village. The centre has a welcoming, calm and friendly atmosphere conducive to study. It provides a quiet and safe environment with lots of free parking either directly outside the centre or in the large village car park nearby. It is a bright, modern facility that is safe and secure for children and the ground floor has a pleasant waiting area for parents.
Most of our students attend schools within the area and live in the local community and the current age range of students at the centre is four to 16 years old. The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
Kumon should not be considered a traditional tuition provider as, rather than ‘teaching’ students, we encourage them to become independent learners who feel confident in their own abilities and able to face unfamiliar work.
There are eight assistants who help the Instructor with classroom work, providing encouragement and support to enable your child to settle in quickly and make optimum progress. Within the classroom, there is an early learner area to accommodate our younger learners. The aim is to maintain professional standards through a centre which runs smoothly, is sensitive to students' needs and has good student and parent relationships.
