The study centre opened in 2011 and is located at the lower end of town in Ashby Methodist Church Hall. It can be accessed from the street at the front or the large supermarket car park at the rear.
The Methodist Church Hall is an ideal place for study, being light, airy, spacious and quiet, with sound-proof walls and glazed entrance doors through which parents can observe the children working. There is a warm, comfortable waiting room next door for parents and families, with children's toys to keep siblings occupied.
The classroom has a carpeted reading area and there is a range of books at the centre that students can read to complement their worksheet study. There is also a section where students can practice their Numberboard skills. The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
The Ashby-de-la-Zouch Study Centre has four fully trained class assistants who work as a team in marking the students' work, guiding them with their learning and providing one-to-one support for the newly-enrolled and early learners. The Instructor is fully compliant in all legal matters including an enhanced DBS check, child protection, health and safety and insurance.
