Hello and welcome to the Kumon study centre based in Ashton upon Mersey, Sale, which has opened its doors for over 8 years to children who live, or go to school in, the local area and beyond.

We are all individuals and there is no such thing as a typical Kumon student. At Kumon Ashton upon Mersey we have children at the centre ranging from pre-school to A level standard who study English or maths or indeed both subjects. By following the Kumon individualised programme the students develop a firm understanding of these fundamental subjects at their own pace, mastering each topic before advancing to the next. These cornerstones of education offer long term benefits to the students in numerous ways and in all areas of life by boosting confidence, self esteem, independence and a positive attitude to learning.

Kumon is suitable for all ages and abilities from the gifted to those who find all school work challenging. It is never too late to embark on the Kumon journey and from whatever the starting point, the programmes will help your child to:

  • Master maths and English skills
  • Develop excellent concentration skills
  • Establish good study habits
  • Build lasting confidence and self belief
  • Improve their all-round academic achievement
  • Become an independent learner

The programmes are worksheet based. The worksheets are to be completed daily at home, with attendance at class once or twice a week on a drop in basis. At class, positive feedback and guidance is given together with supplementary activities, rewards and incentives along the way. Study by correspondence is also possible and there is no upper age limit.
