Welcome to the Kumon Banbridge Study Centre which provides maths and English programmes for students of all ages and abilities. Kumon focuses on developing independent learners and building confidence in reading, writing, mental arithmetic and times tables.
With Kumon study your child will:
• work at a pace that is tailored to their individual needs
• develop invaluable study skills and concentration
• establish a positive attitude to study
Kumon's long-term focus provides children with the self-assurance and the transferable self-learning skills to realise their potential throughout school and life.
How does the programme work?
I will assess your child in an individual meeting to determine the right level for the Kumon programme. Then, your child will attend the centre once or twice a week during class times to complete a small piece of work and get feedback on their progress. This usually takes between 20-40minutes depending on whether your child is studying two subjects. They will then be given a small amount of work to be completed at home on days they do not attend the centre.
The work is individually set and will go at a pace that is suited to each student's ability. Each student is carefully monitored to ensure the work is right for them at all times. If necessary a level can be repeated until it is mastered before moving on to the next level. Kumon works on long-term goals and targets with incentives, motivation and praise to help your child attain their potential.
