The centre has been operating since 2000 and is located in the Educational Suite of the Banbury Museum, which is in the centre of Castle Quays Shopping Centre.
The centre now operates for three days, giving more flexibility to family life. There is a coffee shop available in the museum as well as children's activities and there are toilet facilities next to the coffee shop. The coffee shop is open until 4.30pm on weekdays and all day on Saturdays.
The centre is popular with students from primary and secondary schools throughout Banbury, and the surrounding villages as well as the Grammar schools in Warwick, Buckingham, and Stratford and independent schools in Buckinghamshire. It has a well-established reputation and welcomes students from all ages and abilities, but currently has students aged between three and 18 years old.
The Banbury Study Centre actively encourages supplementary reading through the Kumon Recommended Reading List by having the full list of books available to read.
The study centre holds an annual Kumon awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of students, which students and parents are invited to.
All staff at the centre are recognisable by their Kumon uniform.
The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
Kumon should not be considered a traditional tuition provider as, rather than ‘teaching’ students, we encourage them to become independent learners who feel confident in their own abilities and able to face unfamiliar work.
Kumon Banbury is Ofsted registered, and we are able to accept childcare vouchers as a result. For more information on the childcare vouchers we accept, please do contact us via the contact information above.
