"Kumon is not always fun because it is challenging, but it is always successful provided parent, Instructor and student work in partnership."

The Bebington study centre has been running since May 2004 and in that time has supported hundreds of local children with their studies.
Classes are run three times a week and students are encouraged to attend two sessions a week to gain the full benefit. The week day classes are open from 4.00pm and close at 6.00pm. The Saturday class runs from 9.00am until 11.00am and is held at a different venue: Christchurch Community Centre, Kings Road in Higher Bebington.
Each visit takes around half an hour for a student studying a single subject and about 45 minutes for a dual subject student. This means that you can tailor your visit to class around parents work commitments or other after school activities. It is important that your child is given enough time in class to get the best possible results so prepare for being flexible.
At the class each student completes their worksheet for that day. They take home with them worksheets for each day until the next class. It is an important feature of Kumon study that students complete work every day. Before starting Kumon you must think carefully how you will fit this into your daily family life. If your child studies maths they would spend between 10 and 20 minutes each day with English taking around 20 to 30 minutes. I expect an adult to mark the work every day at home in order that the student receives the daily opportunity for corrections to be done and of course to be praised each day.
Initially students work in our newly enrolled area receiving one to one attention while we develop good study habits that can then be replicated at home. If any parent wishes to observe how we work with students they are welcome to do so. Once a student has developed good study skills they progress to the independent section of class. I expect that every student is sat down and working within the first 60 seconds of entering class. To this end I do not enter into lengthy discussion with parents during class, my time in class is devoted to the students.
I work full time on Kumon and can be contacted by telephone, mobile or email during office hours for detailed discussions. If you have any questions about Kumon please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please note: The Saturday class is held at a different venue.
