The Kumon Bradford, Great Horton Study Centre was established in April 2013 and operates from the school building within the Ukrainian Community Centre on Legrams Lane. This venue is easily accessible by car, public transport or on foot as it is within yards of the Bradford Ring Road, it is on the Bradford-Clayton bus route (with a bus stop directly outside the gates), and is within walking distance of several local schools.
The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study. Currently, the youngest student in the centre is three years old and the oldest is 15, however the Kumon Programmes are suitable for students of all ages and abilities.
At this moment there is one Kumon class assistant working alongside the Instructor, who supports with the marking and recording of students’ work, allowing the Instructor to observe and monitor students’ progress and ensuring the smooth running of classes.
Within the study centre, there is a zone dedicated to early learners, with provision of suitably sized tables and chairs.
There is a separate waiting room for parents and siblings, which contains a notice board for messages, class news and newsletters.
The venue also offers excellent on-site parking.
Kumon should not be considered a traditional tuition provider as, rather than ‘teaching’ students, we encourage them to become independent learners who feel confident in their own abilities and able to face unfamiliar work.
