The Kumon Brixton Study Centre was established in 2012 and offers maths and English programmes to children of all ages and abilities; current students at the centre range in age from four to 15 years old.
The unique Kumon programmes aim to pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised study. Through daily study, both at the study centre and independently at home, Kumon goes further than traditional methods of tuition by ensuring students maintain a level of development every day.
The study centre is located in a spacious venue on the ground floor of St Matthews Church, a listed building set in peaceful gardens near the Ritzy Cinema and the Tate Library. The atmosphere in class is friendly and supportive, an excellent environment for your child to learn.
The Instructor, Yasmin Fitzpatrick, works alongside a number of assistants who help with marking work, oral reading and student support. The team enjoys working with students looking to catch up with learning, as well as students who wish to be challenged ever further.
Several members of the team are dedicated to supporting younger students and work closely with them in a separate early learner section as they learn to read, write and count.
