The Charlton centre has been open since July 1999, and over 150 children are currently enrolled here. Ages range from three to seventeen, with a very wide range of abilities. We have a special area dedicated to Early Learners, helping them to discover the joy of learning.
Kumon study offers so much more than private tuition. Kumon provides long-term benefits to give students the best chance to succeed at school and in life. Kumon is a unique home/class tuition method developed over 50 years ago in Japan by Toru Kumon to give his own son the best start in life.
Unlike traditional lessons, students are able drop in to class at a time to suit themselves during the sessions. Students are typically present for 30-60 minutes and are then given work to complete daily at home. This should take about 10 to 20 minutes per subject per day - depending on student's ability and concentration span.
Kumon is a long-term programme, students should typically expect to study for one to two years to develop lasting benefits; some students at this centre have been studying with Kumon for over eight years.
"We aim to provide a nurturing environment where all children can develop the skills they need to realise their full potential."
