The centre is conveniently located in the community hall of the Hook Centre, in the most central part of Chessington. It is ideally located next to two bus stops and opposite the Hook Parade shops. There are ample parking spaces at the centre.
The Hook Centre has been chosen as the venue for the study centre so there is plenty to keep parents and younger siblings occupied while waiting for students to finish classes. The ground floor of the centre is home to the Hook Library, which makes it convenient for children to borrow books, to introduce them to the beautiful world of reading and to help them discover the joys of reading. There is also a café and a reception area with ample seating space at the centre.
The study centre caters for all ages and abilities. The youngest student currently at the centre is three years old and the oldest student is in Year 10 and working towards her GCSEs.
The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
Kumon should not be considered a traditional tuition provider as, rather than ‘teaching’ students, we encourage them to become independent learners who feel confident in their own abilities and able to face unfamiliar work.
