The Kumon Ditton and Molesey Study Centre has been established since 1980 and is based at St Nicholas Church Hall on Mondays and Tuesdays, and East Molesey Methodist Church Hall on Saturday mornings. Both venues are in a convenient central location which is easily accessible from Thames Ditton, Molesey, Long Ditton and Hinchley Wood. There is ample parking available and there is also a reception area in which families can wait whilst their children study.
The study centre caters for all ages and abilities. The youngest student currently at the centre is three years old and the oldest student is 18 years old and working towards her A levels.
The programmes are individualised to each student’s needs; we have students who find maths/English difficult, those who need to develop good work skills, to students who need to be challenged further. Our aim is for each and every child to become an independent, advanced learner, with a positive attitude to study.
Students are given time slots for their study at the centre to ensure that every student gets the support they need in class. There is a separate table for newly enrolled students and early learners to provide one-to-one support in developing children’s pencil skills, posture and pace and also to closely monitor and develop their self-learning, correction and other study skills.
Along with the Instructor, Kiran, the centre's team of seven trained members of staff are on hand to support the student’s development.
The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study. Unlike the process of a traditional tuition provider, Kumon encourages students to take their learning into their own hands. The role of the Kumon Instructor is to provide guidance, support and encouragement, allowing the student to develop their own independent learning strategies.
Please note: Saturday's class runs from East Molesey Methodist Church, 23 Manor Road, East Molesey KT8 9JU.
