Four-year-old Chibuikem and three-year-old Amarachi
Chibuikem and Amarachi's mother said: "I am absolutely delighted and could not hesitate to enrol Amarachi because Kumon gave my son, Chibuikem, the tools he needed to build his confidence in tackling English and maths, thereby enhancing his performance. My son's progress since he started Kumon has been tremendous and this continues to grow enormously on a daily basis. He's achieved so much more within a short period of time.
"My expectation for Amarachi is to build and develop her confidence as well and see her even perform at a higher level than her brother."
Eight-year-old Ubhay Ahmed
Ubhay said: "Specifically, Kumon has helped me to become quicker in maths. Generally, the Kumon programme and the various competitions held at the East Dulwich Study Centre have also boosted my confidence.
"My confidence and my academic excellence helped me to gain a scholarship into Dulwich College Preparatory School. Out of the 200 students in Year 4, I am one of the top 14 in maths. That select group of 14 is also divided into three groups and I am in the top group of the three. In English, I have become much more confident reading and appreciating novels and other literary matter, and in tackling comprehension.
"In the future, I would like to become a heart surgeon. For now, I love chess and taekwondo. I also enjoy making model cars and houses etc. out of scrap material."
22-year-old Rut Montes Casquero
Rut said: "My name is Rut Montes Casquero and I am from Spain. I currently live in London. I am working as an Au Pair and therefore need to have a good grasp of the English language. I also have the desire to become an English teacher as I love working with children. I chose Kumon English because the timetable for the classes was good for me, and the centre is near my house. Also I am really being helped by the worksheets and the centre has good assistants."
