Welcome to the Portobello Kumon study centre which has been open since July 1995 offering both maths and English programmes.
The majority of our students live in the local area and attend local schools. However, due to our proximity to the city bypass and A1 we have students from out with the city too. At the Portobello Centre we have students of all abilities and ages, ranging presently from four to fourteen.
Kumon's individualised daily learning programme in maths and English gives students the opportunity to develop a solid, sound foundation in the subject (concentrating on key topics such as mental arithmetic, times tables, reading and grammar) while allowing them to progress at their own pace.
Word-of-mouth recommendations have played an important part in the successful growth of the centre and it is now a thriving and important part of the local community.
