The Kumon Fareham and Portchester Study Centre, which opened in 2015, provides a friendly and supportive environment for students of all ages and abilities. Children from three years upwards attend the centre up to twice weekly.
The centre is situated within the old Victorian primary school in Castle Street and is easily accessible by car, foot and public transport. It offers a large free car park, a waiting area and a courtyard garden for parents and siblings to use whilst students complete their work.
The classroom is light and airy, providing a motivating learning environment. Within the classroom there is an early learners area where our youngest students are supported; a reception area where children collect their homework and classwork for the day; study tables and an activity area where students may read or complete maths challenges whilst their work is marked by an assistant. All students are supported as they undertake their Kumon journey, achieving maximum progress from their studies both in class and at home.
Communication with parents is highly valued and Instructor Janet ensures parents receive regular updates regarding the progress of their children.
Enrolment and assessment meetings can be held at the centre with prior arrangement with the Instructor, Janet Taylor.
The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
Similar to other tuition providers the Kumon programmes focus on essential academic skills, but we go one step further by developing a child’s independent study skills, needed for school, university, employment and all other aspects of adult life.
