The Kumon Giffnock Study Centre was established in 2003 and is situated on the south side of Glasgow in the thriving community of Giffnock.
The study centre is held at the Orchard Hill Memorial Hall, which is only a short walk from Giffnock train station. The centre is also easily accessible by various bus routes and there are parking facilities for those arriving by car. At the centre there is a separate parent waiting area, which offers a safe and warm environment for parents, guardians and siblings, while students are attending class.
The unique Kumon Maths and English programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study. The programmes are suitable for children and young people of all ages and abilities. Currently our students range in age from three to 17 years old.
Instructor, Naureen, is supported by a team of assistants who help to mark, record work and support students with their study skills. There is a separate area for newly enrolled and early learner students.
Unlike the process of a traditional tuition provider, Kumon encourages students to take their learning into their own hands. The role of the Kumon Instructor is to provide guidance, support and encouragement, allowing the student to develop their own independent learning strategies.
