Welcome to the Harborne Kumon Study Centre.

Home Page Harborne Boy at workOur bright and airy study centre provides a motivating learning environment for all of our students and is conveniently located on the High Street. We currently support over 370 children from in and around Harborne who study the Kumon maths and English programmes. At the Harborne Study Centre we believe a child's potential is limitless and aim to nurture confident, independent children who can contribute to society.

Whatever their age or ability, we aim to help your child:
• master maths and English skills
• develop excellent concentration and study habits
• build lasting confidence and self-belief
• improve their all-round academic achievement

The layout of the classroom reflects the independence of the learners as we encourage them to self learn, whilst allowing us to observe each child and recognise immediately when they need our guidance. Our priority within the Kumon programme is to promote and encourage self learning so that the children can realise their full potential using the mediums of maths and English. Such self learning skills can then benefit the child across all subjects and outside of the classroom.

Home page Harbone Girl at CentreAt the Harborne Kumon Study Centre we encourage the students who have developed good study skills to take their learning one stage further by self pulling (picking up new worksheets) and ultimately self setting their own work. This gives children a sense of ownership over their work and their development. By encouraging students to take responsibility for their studies they are encouraged and supported to set themselves long and short term goals. These skills are invaluable when striving to achieve full potential. Please be assured that the self setting and selection of work is overseen by the Instructor to ensure that it is appropriate.
