Welcome to the Hemel Hempstead Kumon study centre. It has been running for over 15 years and was one of the earliest to be founded when Kumon came to the United Kingdom. The current instructor, Heidi Doré, has been running it since 2005.
The centre is based at Hemel Hempstead High School, a short walk from the town or Dacorum Sports Centre. Many of the students who attend the centre, study at schools in Hemel Hempstead and live in and around the town. However, some people travel to us from surrounding areas. Most students attend the class once a week. There is plenty of parking available at the school.
The Kumon programme is not a quick fix; it takes time and patience, but if you work with it, the results are fantastic. Kumon provides a structured, supplementary learning system for students, starting from an easy level, thus ensuring a solid foundation and allowing us to build up the necessary study skills for advanced learning.
The work is tailored to each individual student's needs, to develop study skills such as focus and concentration and to establish a positive attitude to study. Kumon develops stamina, perseverance and determination and gives the students the opportunity to reach their potential. The easy start has the added advantage of lifting the student's confidence and self-esteem.
