Welcome to the Kumon Islington Study Centre which provides maths and English programmes for students of all ages and abilities. The centre has been providing a valuable service for the local community since May 2002. It is located in the church in Thornhill Square in a quiet and safe environment away from the main road with lots of parking outside. It is a pleasant facility that is safe and secure for children and the foyer is a suitable waiting area for parents.

Our youngest student is three years old and our oldest is 18. The centre has a friendly but studious atmosphere and there is a team of dedicated assistants on hand to assist students when required.

We develop concentration and build confidence by tailoring the programme to each individual child. We aim to develop your child's full potential and help your child become a self-learner. Students study at their own pace on work that matches their ability by completing a ten minute worksheet every day and attending a class once a week, on a Tuesday or Thursday.

With Kumon study your child will:
• work at a pace that is tailored to their individual needs
• develop invaluable study skills and concentration
• establish a positive attitude to study

Many of our students attend schools within the area and live in the local community. The centre has a calm, learning atmosphere that provides encouragement and support to enable your child to feel welcome and make optimum progress. The long-term focus for Kumon is to provide children with self-assurance and learning independence to help them reach their potential.

Many local teachers and other professionals send their own children to our centre, and we are recommended by teachers and educational psychologists. Existing parents tell their friends and relations about the Islington centre and even students get their friends to join!

If you would like to enrol, please call me to arrange an individual meeting. I will assess your child's current ability in maths and English and seek to understand more about the child's needs. After explaining exactly what is involved and what to expect when studying Kumon, we shall agree together study goals suited for your child.
