The centre has been in existence since 2001 and run by the current Instructor since 2013. It is located in the Marlborough Scout Hall in the west end of town and within walking distance of four local schools. There is parking available, a waiting room, and washroom facilities in the hall.
Students attending the centre currently range in age from seven to 15 years old and attend schools both from within and outside the town. The centre is open later on a Wednesday evening, which is an excellent opportunity for families who may live further away the opportunity to attend class.
There are currently five class assistants at the centre, who know the Kumon programmes themselves either as parents of children enrolled in the programme or as students who have benefited from studying the programmes. They bring with them a range of important skills and knowledge of the programme to support the students’ development.
There is a range of books at the centre that students can read to complement their worksheet study. The centre also has the facilities to cater to younger students and the assistants are deployed to help nurture their study and independent learning skills within the centre.
The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
