The Kumon Middlesbrough Central Study Centre opened in 2016 and is continuing the successful heritage established by founder Toru Kumon over 50 years ago. We extend a warm welcome to students of all ages and abilities. The current age range of our students is seven to 15 years old. The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
The venue for Middlesbrough Central is the new Community Fire Station on Park Rd South. As a fully operational Fire Station, there is no parking on site, however there is plenty of free parking nearby.
The study centre occupies two rooms, both of which are fresh, light and airy. One room provides a calm and ordered working environment to encourage optimum achievement, and the second is a comfortable waiting area for parents. There is a resource area within the centre that contains additional reading materials and numberboards to further encourage and enhance independent learning in our students.
The Instructor and the three assistants have previously worked as fully qualified teachers and teaching assistants, bringing with them a wealth of educational experience. Through a process of close observation and dedicated assistance, we are able to support and guide students at all times, and there is a regular progress review with parents.
