The centre was established in 1995 and is well attended by students aged two years and upwards, of all abilities and from a wide variety of local schools including home-schooled children.
The centre follows the Kumon Method of Learning to guide students through each new academic challenge they face as they progress through their individualised Kumon programme while developing their abilities, and study material beyond the Kumon International Standard.
The dedication to achieving this aim for every student at the Mill Hill Broadway Study Centre is demonstrated by the quality and experience of the team of assistants, who have a combined experience of over 35 years with Kumon. Alongside being academically qualified, they are regularly trained to assist the instructor in effective observations of students working, assessing their understanding and providing feedback in order to provide a personalised programme of instruction.
Kumon should not be considered a traditional tuition provider as, rather than ‘teaching’ students, we encourage them to become independent learners who feel confident in their own abilities and able to face unfamiliar work.
The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
