Welcome to the Mirfield Kumon Study Centre.  The centre was established in the Autumn of 2000, and some students have been studying Kumon for over five years.  Students come from all areas surrounding Mirfield, including Kirkburton, Dalton, Dewsbury, Heckmondwike, Cleckheaton, Gomersal and Batley.

Many students join following recommendations from other families, schools and teachers or Educational Psychologists.  Some even come as a result of their friends' recommendations!  The age range is from four to 16 years, although there have been a few adults over the years!  In fact the Kumon programmes cater for all ages and abilities, so no one is excluded if we feel we can help.

Kumon's long-term focus provides children with the self-assurance and the transferable self-learning skills to reach their potentials throughout school and life.

With Kumon study your child will:

  • work at a pace that is tailored to their individual needs
  • develop invaluable study skills and concentration
  • establish a positive attitude to study

Our base in Christ the King Church on Stocks Bank Road is excellent; the premises have recently been refurbished and are light, warm and pleasant.  There is room to park directly outside the centre, and many parents come in to wait whilst their child is working.  Alternatively, there are a few local shops, a small park, and a lovely garden centre within a few minutes walk or drive.  Parents of very young children must wait in the centre, and all students must be met in the building before they may leave.
