The centre has been open since 2008 and provides maths and English programmes for students of all ages and abilities. Many of the students at the centre attend schools within the area and live in the local community.
Conveniently located in the Westlands, just a two minute drive from Newcastle-under-Lyme, the Newcastle-upon-Lyme Study Centre is situated at St Peter's Church Hall, the entrance to which is via Pilkington Avenue. The centre provides both a classroom and a room for parents to wait while their children attend the class. Parking facilities are available at the centre.
At present, students at the centre range from three to 14 years of age. Some students study the maths programmes and others the English programme, but a growing number of students have opted to study both subjects. There is a number of assistants at the centre that support the Instructor in helping student's development.
The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
Unlike the process of a traditional tuition provider, Kumon encourages students to take their learning into their own hands. The role of the Kumon Instructor is to provide guidance, support and encouragement, allowing the student to develop their own independent learning strategies.
For further information, please do not hesitate to contact the Instructor.
