The centre has been established since 2003 and is located at Botley Baptist Church which is next to the Co-op. There is parking at the church and additional free parking at the Co-op.
The centre is located close to many schools including Botley, North Hinksey and Cumnor Primary Schools as well as Matthew Arnold Secondary School. The centre is popular with students from primary and secondary schools throughout Oxford and the surrounding villages as well as the independent schools in Oxford. It has a well-established reputation and welcomes students from all ages and abilities. Current students are aged between 3 and 18 years old.
The centre has sole use of the premises during class times and therefore provides a focused study area for all students as well as a small waiting area for parents.
The Oxford, Botley Study Centre actively encourages supplementary reading through the Kumon Recommended Reading List by having the full list of books available to read. Students stay for approximately 45 minutes per session and are able to attend anytime during the opening hours.
The study centre holds an annual Kumon awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of students, which students and parents are invited to.
All staff at the centre are recognisable by their Kumon uniform.
Kumon should not be considered a traditional tuition provider as, rather than ‘teaching’ students, we encourage them to become independent learners who feel confident in their own abilities and able to face unfamiliar work.
The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
Kumon Oxford, Botley is Ofsted registered, and we are able to accept childcare vouchers as a result. For more information on the childcare vouchers we accept, please do contact us via the contact information above.
