The centre was established in 2006 at The Parklangley Club in Beckenham, a well-established sports club with a family friendly environment. The location is accessible by public transport and has ample free parking, both on and off-site. Parents are able to use the club refreshment facilities or adjacent waiting area while their children are studying.
Weekly visits to the centre are an important focal point of your child’s Kumon programme, with students spending 20-30 minutes in class once or twice a week. The early start on Thursdays is for pre-school students and students who are home-schooled and would like to fit Kumon into their timetable. Many of the students come to the centre via personal recommendation, and there are students coming from across the borough of Bromley and further afield.
Students currently range from pre-schoolers to A-level students and the centre welcomes children of all ages and abilities, whether they require further support to succeed academically or are seeking an additional challenge so they can fulfil their potential.
The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
Kumon should not be considered a traditional tuition provider as, rather than ‘teaching’ students, we encourage them to become independent learners who feel confident in their own abilities and able to face unfamiliar work.
The centre has a committed and hard-working team of eight assistants who work alongside the Instructor. The centre is fully compliant and SafeCIC registered.
