Welcome to the Penarth Kumon study centre.
Classes are held at The Kymin House Penarth which is in a pleasant park just above the beach and pier. We meet on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays after school from 3.45pm to 5.30pm and on Saturday morning from 9.15am to 11,45am. Kumon is a 365-day-a-year course which means we are open during the long summer holidays.
Penarth Kumon Centre has students from all the primary schools in Penarth , several from Barry and Cardiff and also secondary schools such as Stanwell , Ysgol Bro Morgannwg , St Cyres , Howells School Llandaff and The Cathedral School.
Students at the centre range from four to 16. They are following the same programme of study of maths and English at an appropriate pace and level. Some students come to catch up with their peers at school. Others come for enrichment and for more challenging work than they are given at school. Two of my students this year have been awarded the top academic scholarships to Howell's School Llandaff.
At my centre students can start Kumon once they know their letters and numbers up to 20. They must also be able to write their name.
