Welcome to Shepherd's Bush Kumon Study Centre which provides maths and English programmes for students of all ages and abilities. Many of our students attend local primary and secondary schools both state and private. The centre was established in 2010 and is now a thriving and important part of the local community.
The centre is located opposite Shepherd's Bush police station and has easy access to all major buses plying on Uxbridge Road. Pay and display parking is also available. There is a comfortable waiting area for parents/ carers.
With Kumon study your child will develop skills such as concentration, accuracy and fluency, through a system of daily study using worksheets. On the maths programme, students develop numeracy skills as well as mental agility. The English programme focuses on reading comprehension and also builds skills in grammar, punctuation, vocabulary and spelling as well as fostering a love of reading. Both programmes complement school work and cover material up until the equivalent of A Level.
We also provide extra- curricular activities for our students whilst at the centre. We have a Kumon library which shelves a wide range of books for young to confident readers. We also provide mental maths area which when used regularly can significantly enhance student's mental arithmetic.
Our students vary in age from 3-16 years and study work at a range of levels which is determined by the individual child's ability as opposed to their school year/ age. Many students who have completed just 12 months of Kumon programme find themselves more than a year ahead at school when compared to their non Kumon peers.
We believe that parents play a large and crucial role in their children's education. Hence, we hold regular parent meetings during the year in order to discuss your child's progress.
