The centre is located in the community hall of St Michael and all Angels Church. The centre was opened in 2005, and is now a thriving and important part of the local community.
The majority of students live in the local area and attend local schools. The study centre has a friendly club atmosphere and a dedicated team of six classroom assistants are on hand to assist maths and English students if required. Over 50% of current students are studying work that is advanced for their age.
The unique Kumon Maths and English programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study. The Stoke Newington Study Centre currently has students of all ages and abilities, with the current youngest student being three years old and the oldest student being 18 years old.
Similar to other tuition providers the Kumon programmes focus on essential academic skills, but we go one step further by developing a child’s independent study skills, needed for school, university, employment and all other aspects of adult life.
The church's location is ideal for public transport links and there are no parking restrictions on Fountayne Road, outside the centre. There is also a seating area in the foyer so parents can wait comfortably for their children to finish their work.
