The Kumon Stratford Study Centre was established in 2014.

The unique Kumon maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study. As an education provider, we are proud to participate in the growth and development of Stratford, and aim to develop young individuals that will positively contribute to their local community.

The current age range for students at the centre is three to 16 years old. We have a small team of fully vetted and trained assistants working with the Instructor to support all student development.

At Kumon, we believe in nurturing a love of reading. Children are also encouraged to write book reviews that we will from time to time select to publish in our regular centre newsletters.

Parents are kept well-informed of events and news at the centre through electronic newsletters, emails and mobile texts. Furthermore, we offer 6-monthly progress meetings with parents and students, and an annual award ceremony to celebrate the performance of our students.

Did you know, you can now study Kumon digitally? This study centre is proud to offer KUMON CONNECT. Click here to find out more.

As an Ofsted registered centre, parents can make considerable savings through various schemes.

About the Instructor

Deepak Bhogal - Stratford Study Centre

My name is Deepak Bhogal.

Kumon has been a significant part of my life for the past 15 years, as before I became the Instructor of the Kumon Stratford study centre, I was a Kumon parent! My life partner also runs a Kumon study centre and initially I worked with her as a class assistant and business manager. As my passion and interest in Kumon grew, I began the full Kumon Instructor training programme and successfully took over the Stratford Study Centre in February 2017.

Prior to this, I worked in London, as a qualified accountant, where I honed the skills of training staff members, time and project management, organisation, observation and self-study. All of these skills and techniques I have found to be invaluable in my role as a Kumon Instructor.

The most rewarding aspect of my role, although there are many, is the moment a student overcomes a challenge or obstacle through Kumon instructional guidance, along with the child’s own perseverance and skills. That moment, and the learning experience for the student, in my eyes is priceless.

I am extremely excited to be working with children to help them discover and realise their potential to achieve the most throughout school and life.

It will be my pleasure to welcome you and your child to the Kumon Stratford Study Centre.

Popular Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
