"I believe Kumon is the reason why my maths has improved, and without it I wouldn't have achieved an A in my GCSE maths and wouldn't have even attempted A-level!"

Welcome to the Kumon Wembley Central study centre which has been operating for over 16 years. We offer maths and English programmes to students of all ages, from as young as 3 years old.

We run classes from St James Church Centre in Stanley Avenue - just off Ealing Road on Wednesdays after school and Saturday mornings. The church is just opposite Alperton High School on Stanley Avenue.

Our students attend many of the local primary and secondary schools in the Wembley, Harlesden and Neasden area. Students of all ages and abilities attend the centre. Pre-school children are learning to read and starting basic mathematics whilst older children are working on the Greek tragedies, Shakespeare's plays, quadratic equations and calculus.

We are proud to provide extra-curricular activities for our students whilst at the Centre: we have a Kumon library which shelves some of the featured Kumon texts in the English programme; we also provide a 'Mental Maths' area which, when used regularly, can significantly enhance students' mental arithmetic.

Since we believe that parents play a large role in their children's education, we hold regular parent meetings during the year in order to discuss our students' progress and to share study projections. All new parents are also encouraged to attend a meeting after one month of Kumon study. Thereafter, the study Centre holds 3 parent meetings each year, coinciding with school parent meetings.

The class atmosphere is enjoyed by most of our students – we present prizes to students upon completion of levels and provide other ways of motivating students through difficult times of study. There are also opportunities to work towards special achievement awards called the 'ASR'. (Advanced Student Roll). When all students start their Kumon journey our aim is to help them develop to their full potential, and celebrating their achievements plays an important part in this.

Class visits last approximately 40 minutes for one subject or 1 hour 15 minutes for maths and English. Interested parents are invited to attend an enrolment session which usually takes place at approximately 12.30pm on Saturdays at the Kumon Centre by appointment. These sessions can last up to two hours and involve your child being given an assessment by our trained staff, followed by a comprehensive information workshop for parents. These enrolment sessions are free.
