Welcome to the Kumon Whetstone maths and English study centre, which was opened in 1996, and is now a thriving and important part of the local community. The majority of our students live in the local area and attend local schools. Our study centre has a friendly club atmosphere and a dedicated team is on hand to assist maths and English students if required. Almost 50% of our current students are studying work that is advanced for their age.
At the Kumon Whetstone we have students of all ages and abilities; at present our youngest student is 4 years old and our oldest student is 18. Our longest standing student has attended the centre for the past eight and half years and is excelling on the maths programme.
Many local teachers and other education professionals send their own children to our centre. Teachers and educational psychologists recommend us. Existing parents recommend us to friends and relations, and existing Kumon children even suggest that their school friends should join!
If you decide to proceed and enrol your child in either maths or English programme, we shall arrange an individual meeting to assess your child's current ability in maths and English. I always seek to understand more about your individual situation and your child's needs. After explaining exactly what is involved when studying Kumon, together we shall agree study goals for your child.
