The centre was established in 2004, with classes taking place in a bright, spacious hall at the New Windsor Community Association’s dedicated venue.
The Instructor is a retired grammar school Head of Department who is ably assisted by his wife, also a qualified Kumon Instructor, and a number of trained assistants.
Students come from as far afield as Langley and currently range in age from four years old to 17 years old. They mostly attend local schools in the Windsor area.
At the centre, newly enrolled students are guided during their first days at the centre so they become familiar with class routines, and early learners sit with an assistant to ensure they progress through their work swiftly and develop sound study skills. English programme students have their oral reading listened to, and maths programme students will be verbally tested on their times tables. All students are regularly observed to ensure they are progressing smoothly and parents may also provide feedback about homework. All students also undertake number sequencing activities and there is a dedicated reading corner.
Parents enjoy comfortable seating in a waiting area where centre newsletters and other information is on offer. The venue has a free, large, well-lit car park. For parents waiting with younger children, there are playing fields immediately adjacent to the venue with a children’s playground.
The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
The team look forward to welcoming you to the centre.
