The centre has been operating since 2001 and is located at The Methodist Church in the centre of Witney.
There is ample free parking in Witney, especially behind the church next to Waitrose. In the church there is a large waiting area for parents and siblings with seating, and there are toilet facilities.
Kumon is for all ages and abilities, and at the Witney Study Centre there are a wide age range of students, from three year olds who are just starting out their education, to students completing GCSEs and A-levels, as well as adults wishing to improve both maths and English skills. The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each student by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
The Witney Study Centre actively encourages supplementary reading through the Kumon Recommended Reading List by having the full list of books available to read.
The study centre holds an annual Kumon awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of students, which students and parents are invited to.
There are six staff who work in the centre and can be easily recognised by their Kumon uniform and name badges. The majority of staff were, or still are, Kumon students and some have had higher assistant training, plus are experienced in supporting the younger students and students on the higher levels. There is also Viresh, the Senior Assistant, in the centre to give additional support to the Instructor and students.
