"Kumon training has been excellent - it has brought out the Instructor and businesswoman in me."
Mala Patel, Instructor of the Coventry West Study Centre

The role of the Instructor

Kumon Instructors manage their own study centres in the local community. They play a pivotal role in the academic development of each child at their centre in order to grow a successful education franchise.

Why become a Kumon Instructor?

As an entrepreneur running your own education franchise business, you will benefit from a potentially lucrative career working to improve the lives of children in your community.

Once your study centre is set up, you will have the freedom to take your own decisions and structure your own day. By following the recognised Kumon Method and carefully directing each child's progress, your centre will grow into a strong local business. As your students develop their study skills and ability to learn independently, so your centre will thrive and expand to become a well-known establishment in the neighbourhood.

What do I need to be a Kumon Instructor?

You don't need teaching qualifications or tutoring experience to be a Kumon Instructor – in fact many of our franchisees are working mums or former business people. We will provide the thorough training and assessment you need to become a fully qualified, professional Instructor. You must, however, have an excellent command of English and the willingness to improve your maths to a high standard.

As a Kumon Instructor you will have to manage a successful education franchise, and will be responsible for making your business run smoothly. You will benefit from our modest start-up and operating costs, but will need to be financially secure. By developing and refining your skills to ensure that children achieve their potential, your business will prosper and grow.

In taking on a Kumon study centre and becoming a franchisee, you will be joining a network of responsible education professionals committed to helping children achieve their potential through individual learning.
