About this centre

Ofsted Registered

The Ashford North Study Centre welcomes students of all ages and abilities. Students currently attending have been studying with us for a number of years and range in age from three years up to 18 years and include all abilities.

The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners though individualised, advanced study.

Following a free assessment, students start studying the Kumon programmes at a point that is specific to their individual needs and ability.

In the study hall, early-learners are provided with the necessary support to help them develop their skills. Similarly, newly-enrolled students are closely monitored and guided to develop their self-learning skills to ensure that they are capable of working independently and confidently. The centre awards advanced students in recognition of their achievements.

Kumon should not be considered a traditional tuition provider as, rather than ‘teaching’ students, we encourage them to become independent learners who feel confident in their own abilities and able to face unfamiliar work.

My name is Jyoti Rajani and I have been the Kumon Instructor since August 2008.

I have 21 years of Kumon experience in that I have supported my two children with their Kumon studies since 1997 and I am delighted to say that they have excelled at school and university. With this first-hand experience of being a Kumon parent, I decided to become a fully qualified Kumon Instructor and open the Kumon Ashford North Study Centre.

I have the exciting opportunity to work with children and parents who are totally committed to improving not only their educational experience, but also giving them the best possible chance to be happy and successful in life. It would be my privilege to support you and your family on their Kumon journey.

In class, I lead a team of highly-trained staff with DBS clearance. Each member of staff focusses on supporting the student's development academically and helps them to develop confidence and independent learning skills.

I believe that it is essential for parents to be involved in their child's education. I provide parents with regular feedback about their child's progress and long-term goals.

I look forward to welcoming you to my centre.
