Welcome to the Kumon Chatham, Walderslade Study Centre.

Established in 2002, the centre offers maths and English programmes to children of all ages and abilities. We have children attending from pre-schools, state and independent schools from across Medway including Chatham, Gillingham, Rainham, Rochester and Strood.

Similar to other tuition providers the Kumon programmes focus on essential academic skills, but we go one step further by developing a child’s independent study skills. These study skills have helped many of our students go on to perform well in their 11+ and entrance exams, and are essential for GSCE, A-level, university, employment and all other aspects of adult life.

In addition to studying an appropriate amount of work at home on a daily basis, your child can attend the study centre up to twice a week where you will be kept informed of their progress.

Our experienced team offer support every step of the way, from our dedicated early learning area through to guidance on more advanced topics, and every stage in between.

The unique Kumon maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.

My name is Donna Wood and I am the Instructor for the Chatham, Walderslade Study Centre.

I am delighted to be running a Kumon study centre and to bring the internationally renowned programme to the local area.

I became aware of Kumon through a colleague whose son had studied the programme and was delighted with his progress. Upon enquiring about Kumon, I found there was not a study centre in my area, and the nearest one had a waiting list. With my background in finance and a keen interest in education, I decided to train to become an Instructor.

I now run a thriving centre, with a tremendous and experienced team alongside me. Over the years I have seen so many children (including my own daughters) develop, gain self-confidence and achieve academic success through studying the programme.

Being a Kumon Instructor has been extremely rewarding and I look forward to helping many more students achieve their potential in the years to come.

I look forward to welcoming you to my centre.
